Burhan Flour Mills in Gujrat was the first complete flour mill Shabbir Hussain built — from a bare plot to a running mill, single-handed. Not a machine supplied into someone else's project. The whole thing.
That scope is the same one we contract for today, and it is worth spelling out because "turnkey" gets used loosely in this industry:
Design
Flow sheet, machine list, building drawings, load list, cost estimate — before anything is poured or ordered.
Civil
The building sized around the flow sheet, not the flow sheet squeezed into a building someone already put up.
Machinery
Roller mills fabricated in our own workshop; the cleaning line and plansifter sourced and warranted.
Installation & electrical
Machines set, aligned, spouted and wired. Aspiration designed through the whole plant.
Training
The owner's staff taught to run it, on the running mill, not on paper.
First flour
Commissioning is not finished until the first batch meets quality spec — colour, granulation, extraction test.
One contract, one responsible party. We leave when flour is in the bag and the numbers are right.
02Why This One
The first one is
the hard one.
Anyone can supply a machine. Building a mill from a bare plot means owning every decision in sequence — where the intake goes, how the stock moves between passages, whether the building can carry the plansifter, what the connected load will be, and who answers when the first batch comes out wrong.
Doing that once, alone, in 2003, is what made the next six possible. It is also why we quote whole mills as one contract rather than a pile of machines: the failures in this industry happen in the gaps between suppliers, and on a mill built this way there are no gaps to fall into.
Burhan is in Gujrat, which is where our workshop is. The maker is three hours away, not three oceans — and on the first mill, that mattered more than anything on a specification sheet.
Seven mills, then
Burhan was 2003. Six more complete mills followed across Punjab and Sindh — Feroz, Sadiq, Gharibsons, Paramount, Wahab, Al Harmain — plus two more built under Shabbir's supervision.
Forty years, nine mills on the map. Client references are shared on request, with the client's permission.
