How much does it cost to set up
a flour mill in Pakistan?
A flour mill in Pakistan is costed in parts, not as one number: machinery, land and civil works, motors and electricals, the power connection, and working capital. The machinery is the part you can budget today — roller mill bodies from PKR 10 lac each, a plansifter from PKR 18 lac, a wheat washer from PKR 25 lac and a scourer from PKR 8 lac, all made or supplied from Gujrat. The rest depends on your site, which is why no honest engineer quotes one flat figure.

Motors are always quoted separately: 10, 15, 20 or 30 HP per roller body, fitted on request. Roller mills are manufactured in our own workshop; the rest of the plant line is sourced through our vetted suppliers and warranted by us. Sizing rule of thumb: 700 kg/h per body, so an 8-body line handles about 6 t/h. Full detail on the machinery price list.
Is a flour mill business profitable in Pakistan?
Flour is a staple with year-round demand, so the question is rarely whether there are buyers — it is whether your engineering lets you sell at a margin. Three numbers decide it: extraction (the share of wheat that leaves as saleable flour rather than bran), power cost per bag, and uptime. A mill that is cheap to build and poor on all three loses money every day it runs. Our client mills reach up to 78–80% extraction achieved at client mills on Punjab wheat.
What electricity connection does a flour mill need?
It depends on total connected load, and the figures below are planning figures — the final load list is produced at design stage. Roughly: a ~100 TPD mill draws ~400 kW on a B2 connection; ~160 TPD draws ~630 kW and needs B3 at 11 kV; ~250 TPD draws ~1000 kW, meaning B3 with a dedicated transformer. How long does it take?
Machinery fabrication starts from 10 days, confirmed at order against workshop load. On a whole-mill contract the machines are fabricated in parallel with your civil works, so machinery is rarely the critical path — the power connection usually is. Payment is 50% advance at order, 50% before dispatch, ex-works Gujrat. Every quote states specs, price, lead time, warranty, payment terms and Incoterm on one page, and stays valid 30 days.

That is 40 years · 7 mills built from the ground up: Burhan (Gujrat), Feroz (Taxila), Sadiq (Sialkot), Gharibsons and Paramount (Karachi), Wahab and Al Harmain (Sundar, Lahore). Their owners are our references.

Land & civil works
Your largest site-dependent variable.
Milling machinery
Roller mill bodies from PKR 10 lac each (from 16 lac with Pakistani rolls, from 25 lac with imported); plansifter from 18 lac; cleaning section quoted as a package.
Motors & electricals
Motors are separate (10/15/20/30 HP per roller body, fitted on request); panels, cabling, transformer.
Power connection
See the table below; B3 connections take time, so apply early.
Solar (optional)
Cuts your biggest running cost; we design and install it as part of the project.
Working capital
Wheat stock, wages, first months of operation.

03Power Planning

Planning figures; the final load list is produced at design stage. Per roller body, motors run 10–30 HP (7.5–22 kW). The B3 application, transformer and metering can take longer than the building: we start the paperwork with you at contract signing, not after.
Solar option: we have installed solar on client mills to offset daytime grinding load. Ask for it in your estimate.
